Bend, Oregon is a bona fide outdoor activity hotbed, and golf is naturally more than a part of it. With over 30 public and private courses in the area that also includes the neighboring city of Redmond there are plenty of fun tracks to choose from here in the High Desert. One of those courses is Widgi Creek Golf Club, a place that feels just right in the Beaver State.

This is a true treelined gem surrounded by majestic Ponderosa Pines which truly frame each hole beautifully. It is a charming and gently rolling venue that plays to 6,905 yards from the tips all the way down to the forward green tees at 3,827 yards. The ratings/slope from the back tees come in at a fair number of 72.5/140.

Once a fully private club Widgi opened its doors to the public sector a few years back, and we are sure glad they did! Robert Muir Graves, a golf course architect who was quite popular in the western part of North America designed the course in 1995. There a few holes with water features but nothing too penal. Plus there actually is a Widgi Creek which runs just outside the course and is an offshoot for the popular and scenic Decshutes River.
